Parent Education Program

The Stanford Autism Center at Packard Children's Hospital Parent Education Program offers a half-day parents conferences throughout the year designed to provide parents and caregivers with information about Autism Spectrum Disorder in children and adolescents. Please come and join other parents to learn about treatment options, ask questions, and share experiences. The program starts at 9:00AM through 12:30 (the time is the same for very program date).

Topics include:

This program is designed to provide parents and caregivers with information about how to address ways to build a child's independence and self-sufficiency, as appropriate to their age; in the home setting. The program will be divided into two groups depending on child's age: elementary school age and children in middle and high school.

December 6, 2014: Navigating Service Systems

This program is designed to provide parents and caregivers with information about the various community services including Early Intervention, Special Education (IEP process), 504 Plans, Regional Centers and Medical/Mental Health Services. The program will be divided into two groups depending on child's age. Please come and join other parents to learn about community services, ask questions and share experiences.

February 7, 2015: Managing Disruptive Behaviors

The Stanford Autism Center at Packard Children's Hospital Parent Education Program is offering a half-day parent conference designed to provide parents and caregivers with information about reducing problem behaviors and building positive skills in the home setting. June 6, 2015: How to Explain Your Child's Diagnosis/Differences to Your Child, Siblings, and Others

The Stanford Autism Center at Packard Children's Hospital Parent Education Program is offering a half-day parent conference designed to provide parents and caregivers with information about autism, Asperger's disorder, PDD-NOS, other conditions as well as a discussion on when and how to talk to your child and others about these conditions.
